Pork Tamales and Mico My Funny Boy

Done Tex Mex style covered in chili sauce and cheese...with Red Rice, Refried Beans and a side of Pico de Gallo!

Mmmmmmmm. Life is good.

This is Mico. Mico means Monkey in Spanish. One month after we found(well, he found us actually) him and gave him the name we found him up in a tree. 7 feet up in the tree.He seemed very happy up there.

Last night he was sleeping happily in the chair and Juan came up to watch a little TV. He shifted Mico over so he could sit in the chair and Mico was happy with that too.

He does look happy doesn't he?

What a goofus.

ETA: I almost forgot.
Bree had a beautification day yesterday. She got all plaited up and rubbed to as high of a shine a greying out little bay can get.

All brushed out and ready for braiding.

Halfway there.

Bored.

Mane is done.

Now the tail.
Bree has been blessed with a mane and tail to envy. I don't do any of the things that most horse owners do and yet it still touches the ground.

While I was doing the tail Bree was doing this.

Once it was done I also did Fred and Mandy.
(it's really just to keep the mud from balling up in their manes)

Bree's finished tail.

She's going to be THREE years old soon!

Nice job on the braiding. It'll be interesting watching Mandy change color.

Ohhh, your tamales look SO good! I have some mexican pulled pork in the fridge for tomorrow night's dinner - I was going to do burritos, but maybe I'll make tamales instead!

Bree is a lovely little thing. I think you only have to "do" stuff to them if genetics isn't on your side. Literally the only thing I do to Dixie's tail is lop it off when it touches the ground, and it's amazingly thick. (And dirty. Why did I buy a paint?!)

She is so funny. We did ok for a little filly that was playing chicken on the highway with semis eh? It'll be two years on March 22 since she came to live with us. I can't believe no one ever came looking for her.(she's so small though that IDK what we're going to do with her)
